My experience in KMPP

Day One

It rained lightly when I first arrived at the college. After registering, I was given my room number. Much to my dismay, my room is situated at the block Al-Razi , the block farthest away from the academic area and office. To make it worst , its on the second floor!!... I was the first one to enter the room and got a shock when I discovered that the bed, cabinet and tables were so …. “antique” I would say as we have to nurture a spirit of loving our college and standing up for it anytime, anywhere including in this bloggie haha . Well, spent a few hours cleaning and putting everything to place. Then, we had the first ceramah which lasted until 11.30pm. After that, we went back to “urus diri” before lights were turned off at 12am. I couldn’t sleep that night, my mind was sub-conscious the whole night and damn, the room was so hot and humid.

Day Two

Woke up at 5am and attended the daily 6am moral lesson. It was conducted by facilitators which consist of seniors from the previous batch. Basically what we did was splitting ourselves into groups and work on assignments based on three topics. We are expected to make a presentation on the evening sessions for three days, each day with a different topic. The topics were:

Campus Romance
Self-Esteem – Do’s and Don’ts from various aspects in College
Study Skills

Then, we went to our respective LDK [Latihan Dalam Kumpulan] in the morning to meet up with our mentor. Had an ice-breaking session when we have to memorize everyone’s name in the group [30 of them!!] But I managed to anyway. Met a friend from a school nearby through the weirdest form of self-introduction:

A-me, B-my friend

B : Where are you from?
A : Hi , I am from Sitiawan, Perak.
B : I know you. You’re the smartest guy in ACS Sitiawan right?
A : [shocked and speechless] Errr….
B : Peter Tok right ? You’re quite famous in my school.
A : Yes , I am Peter Tok , and where are you from? [Embarassed bcos I don’t know him]

Sno, let me tayang saat ok ? :P

And the conversation went on , I find a friendly character in him , definitely the one to be sought after if I am to encounter any problems or “whatsoever” [my mentor’s favourite word]. My mentor is a very open malay lady and she’s really nice.

In the evening, we were informed to gather at the field in our sports attire. Initially I thought it was the aerobic exercise my senior mentioned a few weeks ago but when I went there they told us what we’re going to do : merentas desa. I was like WHAT THE…. But things weren’t that bad , some of us including me declined the opportunity to win prizes in the real tournament to be held on Thursday so we practically walked through the whole course and managed to irk the facis and the students who had finished the race waiting for us to arrive. HAHA

Bedtime as usual. Before that during Maghrib prayers session , we had the Moral lesson when the first batch of groups present their works… Pretty interesting I would say , one of the groups did a sketch when two of them hid under the table , got busted and expelled.

Day Three and Day Four

Moral , LDK , Merentas Desa , Moral , Sleep. Dead boring and tiring.

These two days were when I started to hate the lifestyle in KMPP . But my seniors was quick to console us that the weeks after orientation would be better. Well I hope so.

Day Five

More relaxed day because merentas desa is over and the malays had to perform their prayers in KMPP surau. During LDK , we were brought by our co-mentor to the various places in our school. We have the KMPP lake , 4 cafeterias , extensive sports facilities , gorgeous lecture halls , school-classrooms-like tutorial classes , and the spacious library. Didn’t have time to explore thoroughly because the time allocated for the session was only one hour. Then , I went to purchase my bus ticket and happily anticipating Day Six when I woke up , had breakfast , packed all my old clothes into a bag and set off.

Day Six

Took the bus from KMPP to Butterworth Station. Met with 10 other friends from the same district , don’t even know them before unless for my 2 classmates. And imagine how embarassed I am when I realized that one of the Chinese girl who are in my practicum group , is from a nearby school and her house is only abt 5 km away. We met at the bus station and Sno , I wont tell you her name.

Overall

Still to early to be sure whether I could adapt to the lifestyle in matriks or not but so far so good . Nevertheless , still hoping for JPA and not feeling like going back to KMPP tomoro. Sobs.

P/S : Pardon my crude English and grammatical mistakes , don’t want waste time , want to save some for my beauty sleep before going back to “hell prison”…. Hehe.

Hey hey Peter...

Why don't you take part in the Miracle Youth Conference too?

I'm sure all of us from KST would like to meet you.

Really wonderful to hear from you again.
